Time To Make the Wine!!!!

Ok, everybody...this is it. We are heading out bright and early tomorrow morning to buy the grapes for our year supply of home made wine (Calabrese Style.) Myself, my brother and father. It should be fun!! I think we will officially start the 'wine making' process on Sunday, so I will post as we go along with the moment to moment plays. I will also post pictures for those of you who are interested in making wine. I have to make sure my family cooperates with the pictures. (They are such divas! and I'm not talking about the women :))

Woo hoo!!! Vino, vino, vino e more vino!

Tomb of Ancient Gladiator Found In Rome!

If you love history and archeology than this is the find for you. Today in Rome, while unearthing an area for a construction site, workers found ancient ruins including the tomb of the soldier who inspired the character of Russell Crowe's "Gladiator." Wow. Just think, what history lies in the grounds of Rome, just amazing. Historians believe this is one of the greatest finds yet in the Rome area. To learn more about this amazing discovery go to:

Metropolitan Museum of Art Pays Tribute to Great Italian Artist, Giorgio Morandi.

New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art is paying tribute in an exclusive exhibition to one of the great 20th century Italian Artists, Giorgio Morandi. Morandi's work is considered complex and subtle, he was the only artist of his time not to focus his paintings on political issues of Fascism. The exhibit will feature never before seen artwork and prints of Morandi. If you're in NYC and want to broaden your art culture history while learning more about Italians visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art for this spectacular exhibit.

Even Brad Pitt has an Idol and its Italian MotorCycle Racer & Superstar, Valentino Rossi.

Dreams come true even for celebrities like, Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt, who is known for his motorcycle obsession is in complete awe of Italian, superstar motor cycle racer, Valentino Rossi.

Rossi, is known for his super ability in taking curves at high speeds, where he is literally inches away from the ground. Rossi, made a statement this week saying he would allow Brad to ride his Yahama. So, for Brad Pitt having anything to do with the motorcycle superstar is a dream come true. Its kind of refreshing to know that even supermega stars like Brad can idolize and even have interests outside of their business or should I say bubble. I love those guys, always taking an interest in the Italian culture. (This includes his buddy, George Clooney.)

The Final Debate.

Did you tune into your final debate coverage last night? I personally liked the set up of this final debate where the candidiates were sitting more comfortably and from a viewer stand point it made the debate more engaging. Instead of focusing on the awkward movements of the candidates freestyling around the room, the round table effect was definitely more interesting based on the actual conversation.

The debate for me was as always a bit redundant but with an added new topic from the moderator on abortion. This was really interesting to see how the candidates skated around this topic because its probably one of the most controversial stances for any candidate to tackle. I was pleased with Senator Obama's answer and felt Senator McCain was a little more generalizing. I think where the candidates differ is in their specifics and generalities.

For instance, Senator Obama gives specifics and Senator McCain is constantly repeating and generalizing. Look at this point, I think you can see where I am leaning but I will say, who ever does win this election I will support either one of these candidates just as long as the common interest is to better and improve our current state of chaos in the United States. I look forward to the tail of end of this election campaign and am eager to get in the voting booth this November.

October 15, 2008 is Blog Action Day. What is Blog Action Day?

Well, many of you are probably wondering what is blog action day? In an effort to change the direction of conversation tomorrow on the web and in the media, blog action day will call upon all bloggers to discuss a large issue haunting the world today, poverty.

As Americans, we are lucky citizens of a country where poverty is only something you see on television or in a press report. The majority of us are lucky enough not to have to deal with this horrible reality. Poverty is a real topic in my household, where I had to listen and learn about my father's childhood stories of being so poverty stricken that he had go out and work at the age of 12, just so he and his siblings wouldn't starve to death.

Even in the hardest of economic times, the United States remains one of the richest countries in the world, but yet there are millions living here that are living in poverty. Its real. So, tomorrow contribute your part to this issue and discuss ways to make differences. There's a lot going on in the world right now but remaining focused on helping others is something we can do daily.
