Golden Globes Tonight on NBC at 8:00 pm- Italians Representin'.

This is definitely one of the most important nights in Hollywood for actors, studios and networks. What happens at the Globes usually predicts the Oscar wins. But this year is full of our very own Italian, Italian American presence in nominations from best actor, best film to best actress. Tonight promises to be full of great wins, and I am sure unforgettable speeches. We can be especially happy that many of our fellow Italian Americans are in the running for some unbelievable categories.

Here are a few:
  • Best Actor in a Motion Picture- Leonardo Di Caprio
  • Best Actor in a Motion Picture- Frank Langella
  • Best Performance by an Actress In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture- Marisa Tomei
  • Best Foreign Language Film- Gomorrah (Italy)The Country of Italy.

Well, I think that's it, if I'm missing someone, comment this post. I look forward to the Golden Globes tonight, let's support our fellow Italian Americans. I mean really, what is cinema without the Italians?

In the words of Federico Fellini--

“A good opening and a good ending make for a good film provide they come close together.”

Ciao Margaret,

We can't forget about Bruce Springsteen, who won Best Original Song For "The Wrestler". He is Italian-American on his mother's side of the family (Adele Ann Zerilli). I love the blog. Keep up the great work!

Ciao for now,
Tony Mangia
