Columbus Day Parade in New York City 2008.

Its that time of year again when October rolls around and the smell of Fall is in the air, this can only mean one thing for the Italian Americans, ok maybe more than one thing...(like making sauce and wine) but its time for the annual Columbus Day Parade in New York City. By far one of the best parades in New York, (sorry I'm partial..) with participants from all over the country and even from Italy.

This year the 64th Annual Columbus Day Parade – will take place on Monday, October 13th on Fifth Avenue from 47th to 79th St. The live Broadcast will start at 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. The hosts this year are Maria Bartiromo and Joe Piscopoce.

Visit the Columbus Citizens Foundation site for more information on Grand Marshalls, sweepstakes, participants and much more.

Does anyone know the name of the band that marched at the Columbus Day Parade in NYC from Calabria? They have large feathered hats and their march is really more of a "run".
