JOE AVATI, Is He Really The Italian Version of Seinfeld....???

Let me start this by saying...I don't think I have ever laughed so much in my life after watching Joe Avati clips on Youtube and on his myspace page. Joe Avati, is an Italian-Australian comedian from down under and has been compared to Seinfeld due to his incredible success.

His comedy routine is so unbelievably funny, because if you're Italian you can relate to exactly what he is saying. For me especially, because I am Calabrese, I know exactly what he's describing when it comes to his family and the dialect. I found myself thinking, "wow, I thought I was the only person who thought that..or went through that.."

His celebrity has become so big in Australia and Canada, that he sells out his shows in minutes. Now, I haven't had the honor yet of attending any of his shows because he hasn't had any large venues yet here in the states..as far as I know. It would be fabulous to see this comedian because he really hits home for all the Italian immigrants. He's amazing. I encourage you to visit his site and youtube channel. I found myself laughing hysterically in my office while watching his show. We can only hope the tri-state or any part of the United States gets booked for one of his shows.

LOVE Joe Avati. He is pretty darn funny! I have his CD and as a fellow Italian-American (Calabrese e Siciliana) I appreciate his humor. He did do a small show near me (Boston) but I couldn't go. Do yu like or know of Pasquale (and Rosina) Parmiggiano too? Kind of similar Calabrese humor :-) Let me know and I can send it to you!

Hi!,
Carla just send me a link to your post to see if I have heard this comedian...but I have never heard of him. I am Australian-Italian (Half Calabrese and half Pugliese) but have been living outside of Australia for sometime now. Will have to look him up on YouTube!

Hi Anonymous,
I dont know, the one he is performing in or for ...in Australia..no? If you have info on his tour or performances...do share. We're in the dark over here on this side of the pond. We 'Americani' are anxious to know these things.
Thanks,

Joe is a very good friend of ours and has wrapped up a tour in June of 3 months here in Canada. He showcased Comics from Canada and abroad. He has great material and a great tour happening in Australia at the moment, but my wife and I, no nothing of Eros and neither does Joe. Catch his show if you can when he is over here in North America, you won't be disapointed.

When I was back in Oz a few weeks back my sister couldnt stop talking about him. Didn't have time while down there to check him out on Youtube but just viewed some vid clips of him now and have to say he was very funny without being vulgar. Joe's Calabrese dialect is very authentic and his impersonations spot on!
Would love to see him do a Napolitano dialect.
Auguri Giuessepe and keep up the posts Italian/American girl.
